Toen Bob Dylan de lp Nashville Skyline uitbracht, kostte hem dat veel fans. Dylan was immers de man van de protestsongs en niet van de zoetsappige liedjes, aldus de boze fans. Maar Dylan kreeg door die lp nieuwe fans. Nieuwe fans die ook veel waardering wisten op te brengen voor zijn oudere nummers en lp's. Per saldo nam het aantal fans toe. Het verschil was wel groot. In plaats van watervallen van losse mysterieuze woorden, zong Dylan nu mooie teksten. Zoals
